Bowling
Green, Ky. - Noted Kentucky author Wendell Berry will conduct a reading at Western Kentucky University on Nov. 28.
Berry, who is also a widely-known preservationist and farmer, will be reading one of his short stories at 7 p.m. (CT) in room 103 of Garrett Conference Center. The reading will be followed by a reception and book signing.
Berry has penned numerous works in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, novels and short stories. He has received Guggenheim and Rockefeller fellowships, the Jean Stein Award, the T.S. Eliot Award, the 2000 Poets' Prize for “The Selected Poems of Wendell Berry,” the Thomas Merton Award, the Aiken Taylor Award for poetry, the John Hay Award and the 2006 Art of Fact Award for non-fiction.
He received an honorary doctorate from WKU in 2000.
The reading, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Creative Writing Committee of the WKU English Department and WKU’s Women’s Studies Program.
