Bowling
Green, Ky. - The Western Kentucky University Board of Regents today approved the purchase of three properties that will become the site of a new building for the University’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences.
WKU will use state bonds to purchase 1666, 1670 and 1680 Normal Drive for $707,500 plus closing costs. The board also approved the area bounded by Normal Drive, Regents Avenue and Mimosa Alley as the site for the new building.
The building site was selected after Ross-Tarrant Architects and Turner Construction evaluated four potential sites. The site was also approved by WKU’s Campus Master Plan Committee.
The $35 million replacement project for Tate Page Hall was approved by the 2006 Kentucky General Assembly. Page Hall was built in 1970. Replacement is necessary because of a multitude of ventilation and other problems.
