Apollo Students Honored In Computer Science Competition

Bowling Green, Ky. -A team from Apollo High School won the annual high school computer programming contest at Western Kentucky University.

Apollo students Mat Henry, Richard Robertson and Nathan Wade took first-place honors in Wednesday’s competition and received $1,000 WKU scholarships.

The event attracted 22 teams from six schools – Apollo, Bowling Green, Daviess County, Edmonson County, Nelson County and Warren Central.

Finishing second was the Nelson County team of Ben Thornberry, Ben Saderholm and John Boblitt. Third-place went to Apollo’s team of Matt Thomas, Wes Eklund and Nate Burden.

WKU’s Academic Affairs office along with Trace Die Cast Inc. provided support for the competition.
