WKU Announces Shelby And Marguerite Forsythe Scholarship

July 31, 2007

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University has announced the initial awards from the Shelby and Marguerite Forsythe Scholarship Fund.

According to Alex Downing, President of the College Heights Foundation, these scholarships are awarded annually to students who are enrolled at WKU following graduation from Ohio County High School.

The scholarship recipients are Kelsey Fleener and Natosha Mulholland, who will be freshmen this fall at WKU.
“Mr. and Mrs. Forsythe were both Western alumni who were unwavering in their belief in the importance of education,” Downing said. “Their generous support is another expression of their devotion to WKU and to graduates of Ohio County High School. This fund will be housed in the College Heights Foundation as an endowment, and the principal of the fund will remain intact. As long as WKU continues to nurture students on the Hill, the names of Mr. and Mrs. Forsythe will be preserved as the scholarship continues to be awarded to countless students.”

For more information about applying for the scholarship or about making a donation to the scholarship endowment, contact Alex Downing in the College Heights Foundation at (270) 745-4597.
