Green, Ky. - Millions of viewers have watched the television show “The Amazing Race.” Now Western Kentucky University students have an opportunity to participate in the first Amazing Race WKU.
All full-time WKU students are eligible to participate in this race. Students should apply in teams of two. These teams will not know where they'll go next or what they’ll have to do until Tuesdays at 5 p.m. at Pearce-Ford Tower.
The race will start Feb. 20 and last until the week of April 3. The teams will be put to the ultimate test as they’ll have to work together to stay ahead of the rest of the teams. One by one, teams will be eliminated, and in the end the first team to cross the finish line will win a $1,000 scholarship for next semester’s tuition at WKU and many other prizes.
Participants must complete the application form and follow the directions on the application. Applications will be available online at http://www.wku.edu/Dept/Support/StuAffairs/ by clicking on the Amazing Race Advertisement, and then click on the application link. Applications are due at the Housing and Residence Life Office by 4 p.m. Feb. 5. All applicants must be available each Tuesday from Feb. 6 to April 3 at 5 p.m. and for the closing ceremony on April 6.
More information about the time commitment of this race will be available at the mandatory information session for all applicants Feb. 6. All questions or concerns may be directed to Bethany Ore, assistant residence hall director of Pearce-Ford Tower, at Bethany.Ore@wku.edu.
