WKU, National City Bank Honor 61 High School Scholars

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and National City Bank honored 61 seniors from Bowling Green and Warren County high schools for their academic achievements.

Tuesday’s annual High School Scholars Luncheon honored high school seniors who qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU. This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 29.17 and grade-point average of 3.95 and includes 24 Governor’s Scholars and six National Merit Semifinalists.

The students honored at the Knicely Conference Center included:
From Bowling Green High School: Nathan Armentrout, Nicholas Austin, Marian Colburn, William Daniel, Patrick Duncan, Sam Earls, Scott Gardner, Alison Harrigan, Derek Hayes, Hilary Hill, Tara Holaday, Aric Johnson, Trey Just, Jessica Lee, Callie Linden, Allie Logsdon, Morgan Maxwell, Colin Moss, Elisa Beth Parrent, Nathaniel Richmond, Julie Rosing, Elizabeth Stivers, Richard Taing, Casey Tinius, Elizabeth Tyrie, Chris Verst, Jeremy Webb, Bethany Williams, Anne Taylor Wilson, Mark Yager.

Tuesday’s luncheon was one of five recognition ceremonies WKU is conducting this month. The events began Jan. 4 for students in the Glasgow area and continue Thursday for students in Allen, Butler, Edmonson, Logan and Simpson counties. WKU will honor students from the Owensboro area on Jan. 18 and students from the Elizabethtown area on Jan. 23.
