Green, Ky. - The Bowling Green-Western Choral Society announces spring 2007 audition dates and times.
Auditions are scheduled for 5:30-7p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, and 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center 358, the office of Dr. Paul Hondorp, Choral Society Artistic Director.
BGWCS membership is open to people of all ages from all walks of life who are interested in choral masterworks. Auditions are required for new members only. Appointments are not necessary; individuals wishing to audition should be at FAC 358 at the specified times. Choral experience is helpful but not necessary.
The first Choral Society rehearsal will be immediately following the Jan. 22 auditions. Weekly rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. on subsequent Mondays throughout the spring semester in FAC 181 (Band Room). Regular and special rehearsals are subject to change, so Choral Society members are encouraged to check the calendar at www.wku.edu/sing
Two concerts are scheduled this spring. The first, featuring the combined voices of the Choral Society and WKU Choirs in a performance of the Rutter “Gloria,” will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 23.
The second, the annual final concert in which the Choral Society and the Bowling Green-Western Symphony Orchestra perform together, will be Thursday, April 26; the work performed will be the Poulenc “Gloria.”
