Bowling
Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University graduate student Amanda Barker has used a prestigious national scholarship to help complete her
master’s degree in health care administration (MHA).
Barker, of Bowling Green, received the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Foster G. McGaw Scholarship for 2006. The $3,500 award is presented to one student in the United States and Canada.
Barker is completing her graduate program this year and plans to seek employment in the health care field.
The ACHE is an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. The McGaw scholarship is designated for students enrolled in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program. In providing this scholarship, ACHE’s goal is to help increase the enrollment of healthcare management programs and encourage students to obtain positions in middle and upper levels of healthcare management.
