Green, Ky. - Joe Rosson, host of “Treasures in Your Attic,” will visit Western Kentucky University Aug. 18 to appraise Kitchen Kitsch items, including depression glass, cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, and more.
Appraisal Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Kentucky Library & Museum. There is a suggested donation of $5 to cover the cost of the first two items appraised; additional items are $5 each.
“I love seeing what people bring, from the very valuable to the everyday, you never know what you're going to see,” said Timothy Mullin, head of Library and Museum Special Collections.
“I remember sitting at a table when a young woman approached me with a glass lamp she had just purchased at a flea market for $1,” Rosson said. “It turned out this was an incredibly rare Boston and Sandwich ‘Trevaise’ lamp worth in excess of $5,000. She was excited, and I was thrilled just to have the opportunity to see such a wonderful piece.”
