Green, Ky. - The partners of the Southern Kentucky Book Fest are pleased to announce that New York Times best-selling author, Scott Turow, will headline the 2007 Book Fest. A writer and attorney, Turow is the author of eight best-selling novels. Many of his titles are international bestsellers and have been made into feature films.
Also appearing at the 2007 Book Fest is Janette Oke, who has sold over 23 million books under more than 75 titles. Her historical novels portray the lives of early North American settlers from many walks of life and in various geographical settings. Movies based on her first novel, Love Comes Softly, and two of its sequels have appeared on the Hallmark Channel.
Another feature author for the 2007 Book Fest will be Pulitzer Prize winner, Rick Bragg. His books All Over but the Shoutin’ and Ava’s Man are both critically acclaimed bestsellers. Formerly a reporter with the New York Times, Bragg is now a book author and roving correspondent based in Alabama.
Robert Hicks, Cassandra King, Ann B. Ross, and Chuck Barris are also scheduled to attend on Saturday.
Headlining our Children’s Day on Friday, April 20, will be Floyd Cooper, author of Danitra Leaves Town. Mr. Cooper is a two-time winner of the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award.
Other feature authors for Children’s Day are Brad Strickland, author of more than 60 novels, and Tedd Arnold, author and illustrator of over 50 books and winner of the 2006 Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor from the American Library Association. Tony Crunk, Candie Moonshower, Pamela Walker, and illustrator Alison Davis Lyne are also scheduled to attend.
