WKU's Second Living Nurse History Tea Set For May 1

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University will celebrate nursing with its second Living Nurse History Tea on May 1.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the Nursing Department in WKU’s Academic Complex. Parking will be available in Parking Structure 2.

The Living Nurse History Tea is a community celebration of nurses who have worked throughout the years and contributed to shaping the profession of nursing.   

Nursing students and nurses from the community will portray distinguished nurses from the past, including Mary Breckinridge, Clara Barton, Lillian Wald, Florence Nightingale, Betty Capito and Ora Porter.

The free event is sponsored by hospitals, health care facilities, nursing organizations and individuals from Warren and surrounding counties.
