'What Was I Thinking' Winner To Receive Concert Tickets

September 11, 2006

Bowling Green, Ky. - As part of the promotion for the 2006 Homecoming concert featuring Dierks Bentley, Western Kentucky University’s Campus Activities Board is sponsoring a “What Was I Thinking?” writing contest.

The winner of the contest will receive two tickets to the Oct. 26 concert at Diddle Arena and have their story published in the College Heights Herald, WKU’s student newspaper.
In “What Was I Thinkin’,” Bentley’s first hit single in 2003, he sings about a wild night on the town with a girl from Alabama. In the contest, WKU students, faculty and staff can write about their own “what was I thinking” stories, which could include bad blind dates, road trips or spring break mishaps.

The story should be a maximum of 500 words, and include the student’s
name, phone number and email address. Each story will be judged by CAB members and Student Activities staff. The deadline for entries is 4 p.m. Sept. 18. The winner will be notified by Sept. 21. All stories must be submitted to Downing University Center, room 326, or by email to wkucab@wku.edu.

Tickets for the Homecoming concert featuring Bentley, Miranda Lambert and Randy Rogers Band will go on sale Sept. 22 at the WKU Ticket Office in Diddle Arena, online at www.wkusports.com or by phone at 1-800-5-BIGRED.

Ticket prices are $23 for WKU students with valid WKU ID (limit two tickets) and $33 for non-students. The arena will open at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 with the concert at 8 p.m.
