September 12, 2006
Bowling
Green, Ky.
- “Nature’s Bounty: Quilts and More,” the latest exhibit and workshop series at the Kentucky Museum, opens this week.
The exhibit opening reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 15) at the Kentucky Building.
Other events in the series include a Quilt Show and Tell on Sept. 30, a Quilt Workshop with Juanita Yeager on Oct. 14, Evening of Wine and Roses on Oct. 26 and Nine Patch for Beginning Quilters on Jan. 27. On Dec. 2, “The Western Star” quilt, made and donated by the Thimbleberries Club, will be given away. Tickets can be purchased in the Welcome Center at The Kentucky Building.
“We are especially excited about this exhibit, as it will give the community an opportunity to see a variety of quilts that have never been on display before and many others that have rarely been seen,” said Timothy Mullin, head of Library and Museum Special Collections. “Using nature as a theme has allowed us to put together a very unique collection of quilts. The workshop series, which runs through the end of January, presents opportunities for everyone to participate – children, beginning quilters and more experienced quilters.”
