Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University will bring donors and students together Sept. 28 for the sixth annual Scholarship Celebration.

About 400 donors and students are expected for the dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Diddle Arena. Speakers include WKU President Gary Ransdell; Tom Hiles, vice president for Institutional Advancement; Alex Downing, president of the College Heights Foundation; and scholarship donors Gail Martin and Kevin Mays.

The Scholarship Celebration recognizes benefactors who have established endowed scholarships and provides them with an opportunity to meet the recipients. The event began in 2001 and has grown each year.

The total of endowed scholarships in the WKU Foundation, Hilltopper Athletic Foundation and the College Heights Foundation is $40.5 million. In 2005-06, WKU awarded $4.1 million in endowed scholarships.
