Green, Ky. - The Western Kentucky University Alumni Association Board of Directors recently appointed a new president and nine new members to serve three-year terms.
Former Hilltopper athlete Leo Peckenpaugh (’74,’96), assistant principal of South Middle School in Henderson, was elected president of the Board. Peckenpaugh played football and baseball at WKU. He is married to Marietta (’73). They have three children, Trey, Lacey and Wes, who is a student at WKU.
New board members are:
Dr. John Burt (’66) of Fort Thomas, current Commissioner for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He and his wife, Cathy (’79), have three sons.
Jim Holton (’82), of Somerset, president and owner of Turn It On, Inc., a consulting company providing strategic planning, training, graphic, audio and video marketing and business seminars. Holton also does freelance business and marketing consulting to a variety of companies. He and his wife, Jenny, have two children.
Jenny Inman (’94), of Owensboro, a commodity broker for Hurly and Associates, where she has an expertise in specialty grains. She is married to J. Todd Inman, who operates a large State Farm Insurance business.
Brian Martin (’87, ’89), of Dublin, Ohio, transportation project manager for Burges & Niple, where he works in long-range planning for the city and region. He and his wife, Marchale (’89), have two sons, Brian and John.
Jim McDaniels (’71), of Bowling Green, vice president of Client Services for Heartland Resources, Inc. McDaniels was an All-American basketball player for WKU, leading the Hilltoppers to the Final Four his senior season. He and his wife, Carolyn, have a son, Eskias.
Linda Miller (’67, ’79), of Louisville, director of School Programs for Jefferson County Board of Education. Miller and her husband, Fred, have a daughter, Kristen.
Scott Parshall (’80), of Austin, Texas, a mortgage broker specializing in farm and ranch properties along with development projects. Parshall is also part owner of Hilltoppers Inc., a company with franchise rights to build and operate Krystal restaurants in the Austin area. Parshall and his wife, Betsy, have an 11-year-old son.
Tim Sinks (’78), of Nashville, Tenn., president and managing partner of Capital Financial Group. He specializes in estate planning, retirement planning and family business continuity. Sinks is married to Darlene (’79).
Chad Aull (’04), of Philpot, was elected president of the WKU Young Alumni Council and will serve one year as an ex-officio member of the WKU Alumni Board. Aull is deputy chief of staff for Kentucky Treasurer Jonathan Miller. Aull is engaged to Marisa FitzGerald.
The Alumni Association Board of Directors is comprised of 30 members from a diverse representation of geographic areas, ages and disciplines.
A member is appointed to the position based on demonstrated involvement, support and commitment to WKU and the Alumni Association. The role of the Board of Directors is to guide, foster and develop WKU’s alumni program by overseeing the direction of the Alumni Association.
