Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University is planning events for current students, prospective students and their families later this month.

Parent and Family Weekend, an annual salute to current WKU students and their families, is scheduled Sept. 29-Oct. 1 while the first of three Focus on Western campus preview days is scheduled for Sept. 30.

The schedule for Parent and Family Weekend includes:

Sept. 29: Registration, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Downing University Center third floor; WKU women’s soccer game, 6 p.m., WKU Soccer Complex; Just Us concert, 6 p.m., Downing University Center patio.

Sept. 30: Registration, noon-6:30 p.m., Downing University Center third floor; mock classroom/student presentation, 12:40-1:25 p.m., Downing University Center Theater; residence hall receptions, 1:30-2:30 p.m.; President’s Festival on the Green, 3:30 p.m., Preston Center lawn; WKU vs. Western Illinois football, 6 p.m., Smith Stadium.

Oct. 1: Brunch, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Downing University Center’s Fresh Food Company, featuring a performance by Amazing Tones of Joy at 10:30 a.m.; WKU women’s soccer game, 1 p.m., WKU Soccer Complex.

Focus on Western activities include registration, 10-11 a.m., Diddle Arena; welcome ceremony, 11-11:30 a.m., Diddle Arena; informational sessions, 11:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m.; academic expo, 2:30-4 p.m., Preston Center; President’s Festival on the Green, 4 p.m., Preston Center lawn; WKU vs. Western Illinois football, 6 p.m., Smith Stadium.

Other Focus on Western programs are scheduled for Nov. 11 and Feb. 24.
