WKU To Honor Volunteers, Alumni
Chapters At Summit Awards

- Western Kentucky University will recognize its top volunteers,
alumni chapters and alumni Thursday night at the eighth annual Summit
Awards.
Distinguished Service Medals to recognize the service of the University’s
top three volunteers will be presented to Clarence Glover of Louisville,
James N. Johnson of Bowling Green and Forrest Roberts of Owensboro.
Melissa Hardin-Hans of Louisville is the Young Alumnus of the Year while
Judy LaFlare from Drakesboro is the Alumnus of the Year.
The Summit Awards will be presented at the Knicely Conference Center
at WKU’s South Campus. The event begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m.
and the awards program at 6 p.m.
The Warren County, Greater Louisville, Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati,
Muhlenberg County, Central Kentucky, Heartland, Owensboro and Barren
County alumni chapters will be recognized as Chapters of Distinction
for their efforts in organizing alumni events, community service projects,
student recruitment and special events.
University-wide volunteer of the year awards will be presented to the
following:

Committee.
Tammy D. Brown of Glasgow, WKU-Glasgow Campus.
Jimmy Claiborne of Scottsville, Electrical Engineering Advisory Board.
Tom Emberton of Edmonton, College Heights Foundation.
Clarence Glover of Louisville, WKU Alumni Association National Board
of Directors.
Daryl Greattinger of Monticello, Ogden Foundation.
Mike Harper of Bowling Green, Kentucky Museum Advisory Council.
John Hornsby of Mandeville, La., Center for Gifted Studies Advisory
Board.
James N. Johnson of Bowling Green, Southern Kentucky Bookfest/Library
Advisory Board.
Mark Johnson of Glasgow, Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board.
