WKU To Dedicate Transportation Facility Oct. 12

-U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell will be the guest of honor when Western Kentucky University dedicates its Parking and Transportation Services Building with a ribbon cutting on Oct. 12.
The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at the building, located at 578 Campbell Lane, across from the WKU Center for Research and Development. Others speaking include Rick Kelley, chair of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce; WKU President Gary Ransdell; and Jennifer Tougas, director of Parking and Transportation Services at WKU. A reception will follow the ceremony.
Sen. McConnell included $2.5 million for transportation improvements at WKU in the 2004 federal budget. WKU used the funding to purchase five new shuttle buses and to build the maintenance and office facility which opened on Sept. 21.
