Noted Scholars To Discuss Global Water Issues
In WKU Visit

Bowling Green, Ky. - Dr. Mike Magee, host of a weekly, Internet-based program that explores health care policy and public health, will visit Western Kentucky University on Nov. 13 to discuss global water issues.

Dr. Magee, who hosts “Health Politics with Dr. Mike Magee,” will speak at 7:30 p.m. at Van Meter Auditorium. His lecture is free and open to the public.

Dr. Magee is author of “Healthy Waters: What Every Health Professional Should Know About Water.” The book explores water’s impact on health, energy, cities, industry and economics and provides recommendations on solutions for a global water crisis.

In addition to his role as host of Health Politics, Dr. Magee is a former Senior Fellow in the Humanities to the World Medical Association and director of the Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative. He is a David Rockefeller Fellow, Professor of Surgery at Jefferson Medical College, and a Master Scholar at New York University School of Medicine.

Dr. Magee has provided testimony to Congress and has consulted for the American Medical Association, the American Association of Medical Colleges and the American Hospital Association. His other books include “The New Face of Aging,”

“The Best Medicine,” “The Book of Choices,” “Positive Leadership,” “All Available Boats,” “Positive Doctors in America,” and “Health Politics: Power, Populism and Health.”

His visit is sponsored by the Provost’s Initiatives for Excellence, the Ogden College of Science and Engineering, College of Health and Human Services, Department of Agriculture and Department of Public Health.
