Southern Kentucky Concert Band Season Begins June 1

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Southern Kentucky Concert Band’s Twilight Concert Series will begin its 13th season June 1.

The band, open to all adults who play band instruments, will perform from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays at Basil Griffin Park Amphitheater. The eight-week season concludes July 20. The group will rehearse from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Western Kentucky University’s band rehearsal hall. |

The series schedule is “Hey, I’m Scottish, Check Out My Legs” on June 1; “Disney Needs a Dollar” on June 8; “All Good Sports” on June 15; guest conductor Dr. James Swearingen on June 22; “Sousa Sounds Sooper” on June 29; “This Land is Our Land” on July 6; “The Seasons” on July 13; and the Lost River Cave Big Band on July 20.

Admission to the Twilight Concert Series is free. The series is sponsored by Warren County Parks Department, WKU’s Public Radio, the Capitol Arts Alliance, Warren County Fiscal and WKU.
