Veterans Upward Bound Director Elected To National Board

Bowling Green, Ky. - Randal (Randy) D. Wilson, Director of the Veterans Upward Bound at Western Kentucky University, has been elected to the Executive Board of the National Association of Veterans Upward Bound Project Personnel.

Wilson will hold the position of public relations officer for a two-year term. Wilson, who was elected during the group’s annual conference March 21-24 in Washington, D.C., has held the position three other times and has served as vice president.

Wilson is a 27-year veteran of Federal TRIO programs and has been the director of the WKU Veterans Upward Bound program since April 1996. Prior to coming to WKU, Wilson worked with the high school Upward Bound programs at Murray State University and Northern Kentucky University.

He also has served numerous times on the state board of the Kentucky Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel, once as president. When not working in TRIO programs, Wilson also enjoys helping the Fountain Square Players theatre group in Bowling Green and is a member of the local American Legion post.
