Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s 2005-2006 Cultural Enhancement Series will conclude with a performance by the Lark Quartet on April 6.

The group of Kathryn Lockwood, Maria Bachmann, Astrid Schween and Deborah Buck will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Van Meter Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

With an unbridled enthusiasm for commissioning new works and collaborating with artists who delight in bending the “Classical” mold, the Lark Quartet also earns critical acclaim for its performances of the traditional string quartet repertoire. The contrast of these stylistic extremes fuels the artistic energies of this unusual foursome and their distinctive sound. The Lark Quartet’s list of prestigious awards includes the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and Russia’s Shostakovich Competition Gold Medal.
