Bowling Green, Ky. - The final competition for the Kentucky Geographic Bee begins at 1 p.m. Friday (March 31) at Western Kentucky University’s South Campus.
Elementary and middle school students from around the Commonwealth will compete at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center to find out who will represent Kentucky at the National Geographic Bee championship later this spring in Washington, D.C. The state finals will pit 100 students against each other in groups of 10 during the elimination rounds until 10 championship-round finalists remain. These 10 students will then compete for the state championship. The competition is sponsored in Kentucky by the Kentucky Geographical Alliance and WKU’s departments of Education and Geography and Geology.
