Bowling Green, Ky. - A team of Western Kentucky University students has advanced to the Odyssey of the Mind 2006 World Finals.
The team of Kendra Burdine and Brandon Sanders, both of Stanford, Lindsey Doyle and Dan Trujillo, both of Louisville, and Travis Hardwick of Waynesburg took first place in Division IV (college level) for Geometry Structure in the state competition last weekend at Centre College.
The WKU team’s structure of balsa wood and glue weighed 15.83 ounces and held 395 pounds.
The team, which has received support from WKU and the Campus Activities Board, will compete against schools from 25 countries May 24-27 in the world finals at Iowa State University.
Odyssey of the Mind (http://www.odysseyofthemind.com/) is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college.
