Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s Division of Institutional Advancement has earned a major regional honor for its fundraising campaign.
WKU was named a grand award winner in total educational fundraising programs by District III of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). “The Campaign for Western Kentucky University” was named the best for the southeastern United States.
WKU’s Alumni Association received an award of excellence in overall alumni relations programs.
"This is a special honor,” said Tom Hiles, vice president of Institutional Advancement at WKU. “To be recognized as the best overall fundraising program and the second best overall alumni program in the southeast makes us very proud. This recognition is reflective of a dedicated and talented team and a very loyal and supportive alumni base.”
WKU President Gary Ransdell said Institutional Advancement serves as an important liaison between the university and many of its constituents. “A university cannot succeed without significant support from alumni, friends and many others,” he said. “This kind of peer recognition of the good work by the division in advancing our cause among these constituencies is very well deserved.”
The awards were presented during the CASE District III annual meeting in Nashville in February.
