Bowling Green, Ky. - WKYU-PBS,Western Kentucky University’s Public Television, has been nominated in two categories in the 2006 Midwestern Regional Emmy Awards.

WKYU-PBS Producer/Host Barbara Deeb has been singled out in the Host/Moderator category for her show “OUTLOOK with Barbara Deeb.” Producer Cheryl Beckley received a nomination in the magazine program category for the one-hour feature program “Dinner Cruise.” 

Commenting on the station honor, WKYU-PBS Station Manager Linda Gerofsky said: “We are so excited and proud of our talented staff.  It’s wonderful to get recognition like this, especially when we are competing against our television broadcast peers in much larger markets.  We wish Barb and Cheryl luck at the awards ceremony in July.”

The Midwestern Region represents the Ohio Valley Chapter, an arm of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, or NATAS, a professional organization.  The chapter awards the coveted Emmy to television professionals in 13 markets and four states: Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana.
