Bowling Green, Ky. - The first day of school is just around the corner, and that means it’s time for the sixth annual WKYU-PBS Pool Party. Bring the youngsters to the Russell Sims Aquatic Park for this “Sunny Day Celebration” on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The first 500 kids age 10 and under will receive special gifts, plus there will be door prizes and lots of watery fun. Also on hand will be one of WKYU-PBS’s favorite fun characters: Clifford, The Big Red Dog, and Kids on the Block will perform a special water safety program.

The day is set aside to encourage and remind families to spend meaningful time together. Research indicates that spending more time with our families helps to develop healthy relationships that last for a lifetime. The WKYU-PBS Pool Party offers an opportunity to celebrate families—sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grandkids, and other special people in our lives.

Coupons for $1 off regular Aquatic Center admission prices for the day are available at the Bowling Green Wal-Mart and Toys “R” Us locations. Other PBS Pool Party Friends include McDonald’s, Barnes & Noble, Bowling Green Parks and Recreation, Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement, American Bank & Trust, Community Education, Kids on the Block, and Girls Inc.
