WKU Honors Owensboro-Area High School Scholars
Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University honored 55 high school seniors from Daviess and five other counties for their academic achievements.
Thursday’s annual High School Scholars Luncheon honored high school seniors who qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU. This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 28.98 and grade-point average of 3.90 and includes eight National Merit semifinalists and two National Achievement semifinalists. The students honored at the RiverPark Center in Owensboro included: From Apollo High School: Bryan Kennedy, Travis McMaine, Michael Payton, Kevin Reel, Chasity Thomas, Grant Todd, Taiwanna Tutt, Ashley Warren, Ian Wilkey. From Daviess County High School: Landon J. Oakes, Rachel Boyken, Casey Duckwall, Timothy Flaspoehler, Graham Gallagher, Robert Huff Jr., Amanda Kirtley, Nathan J. Paulsen, Haley N. Withrow. From Owensboro High School: Frances Blandford, Mark Gilliam, Andrew Gish, Ashley Hermann, John Humphreys, Kelsey Johnson, Nicholas Moorman, Jackie O’Conner Dohrenwend, Emily Smith, Sara Stovall, Samuel Swift, Stephanie Thompson, Lindsey Young.
