Bowling Green, Ky. - Members of the Western Kentucky University Forensic Team began the second semester of competition with a win at the University of Florida/Morehouse College Swing in Gainesville, Fla. The team took top honors in the Florida portion and second in the Morehouse portion of the Jan. 20-22 tournament.
The WKU debate squad broke each of its entered eight debaters to elimination rounds at the San Diego State University “Sun God Invitational.” As a team, WKU placed third in the Jan. 20-21 tournament.

Saeed Jones, a sophomore from Lewisville, Texas, semifinalist in persuasive speaking in the Morehouse portion; tournament champion in impromptu speaking, third in persuasive speaking in the Florida portion.
Barry Fields, a Bowling Green junior, semifinalist in impromptu speaking in the Morehouse portion; tournament champion in informative speaking, semifinalist in impromptu speaking in the Florida portion.
Courtney Wright, a senior from Evansville, Ind., tournament champion in persuasive speaking in the Morehouse portion.

Benjamin Pyle, a sophomore from Harrisburg, Ill., third in duo interpretation (with partner Rachel Wigginton) in the Morehouse portion; fifth in duo interpretation (with Wigginton) in the Florida portion.
Justin Cress, a Florence senior, semifinalist in impromptu speaking in the Morehouse portion; third in extemporaneous speaking in the Florida portion.
