Bowling Green, Ky. - The Amazing Tones of Joy Gospel Choir will be representing Western Kentucky University on March 4 at 6 p.m. in the College Choir Explosion at The Brown Theatre in Louisville.
The event is presented by the Louisville Urban League, and is sponsored by Norton Healthcare, WAVE-TV and CW Johnson Express. Seven universities, which include the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, University of Cincinnati, Kentucky State University and Kent State University, will compete.
The Gospel Choir has been in existence since 1971 and consists of 70 members, all WKU students.
“We use the choir as a way to be a light on campus and send the message of Jesus across campus,” choir member Jorian Seay said. “We sing all over Kentucky at churches, schools and general events. This will be our first ever competition and we’re very excited about it.”
Tickets can be purchased for $5 at the door, any Ticket Master location, or online at The Kentucky Center’s web site, http://www.kentuckycenter.org/.
