Bowling Green, Ky. - Hope Harbor and Western Kentucky University, along with the Sexual Assault
Awareness Month Committee, are hosting “Take Back the Night: A Celebration” at 6:30 p.m. March 3 at the Capitol Arts Center in downtown Bowling Green.
Take Back the Night events have been in existence since the 1970s and are held worldwide. Take Back the Night is an annual celebration honoring individuals who have endured the trauma of sexual abuse or assault. Locally, this year’s Take Back the Night will be an artistic expression as a community joins together to Break the Silence. The event is free to the public.
Take Back the Night includes a variety of performances from Kaleidoscope, to individual performances by Mark Whitley and the Amazing Tones of Joy. Other performers include the Latin American Student Association of Western Kentucky University, Just Us, Jennifer Scott, and a monologue by Judy Woodring.
Goody bags will be given to the first 82 to attend; other door prizes and event merchandise will also be available. For information, call (270) 782-5014 or visit www.hopeharbor.net or call (270) 745-3159.
