Bowling Green, Ky. - Brian Fremund, Western Kentucky University’s director of Athletic Media Relations, has been honored in the 2005 Fred S. Stabley Sr. Writing Contest sponsored by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Fremund received first place for event coverage in CoSIDA District Four for his story on WKU naming the Preston Health and Activities Center pool in honor of longtime swimming coach Bill Powell.

CoSIDA, founded in 1957, has more than 1,800 members in the United States and Canada.
