Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University student Gabriel “Lanie” McMurtrey of Bowling Green recently received the Kentucky Recreation and Parks Society’s John McClelland Scholarship as the Outstanding Senior in Kentucky.

The $1,000 scholarship, presented at the 2006 Annual KRPS Conference in Bowling Green, is awarded annually to the outstanding undergraduate student who is a member of KRPS.

McMurtrey is a recreation major with a minor in outdoor leadership and is pursuing a second major in Spanish.
