Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and several sponsors will honor students from area high schools for their academic achievements.

Next month’s annual High School Scholars Luncheons honor students who qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU.

Here’s the schedule:

Jan. 4: Glasgow Area Scholars Luncheon, sponsored by South Central Bank, at 11:30 a.m. at the Lera B. Mitchell Clubhouse in Glasgow for students from Barren County, Caverna, Glasgow, Metcalfe County and Monroe County.

Jan. 9: Bowling Green/Warren County Scholars Luncheon, sponsored by National City, at 11:30 a.m. at Knicely Conference Center for students from Bowling Green, Greenwood, Warren Central and Warren East.

Jan. 11: South Central Kentucky Scholars Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at Knicely Conference Center for students from Allen County-Scottsville, Butler County, Edmonson County, Franklin-Simpson, Logan County and Russellville.

Jan. 18: Owensboro Area Scholars Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the RiverPark Center in Owensboro for students from Apollo, Daviess County, Hancock County, Henderson County, McLean County, Muhlenberg North, Muhlenberg South, Ohio County, Owensboro, Owensboro Catholic and Whitesville Trinity.

Jan. 23: Elizabethtown Area Scholars Dinner at 6:30 p.m. (Eastern time) at the State Theater in Elizabethtown for students from Bardstown, Bethlehem (in Bardstown), Breckinridge County, Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Frederick Fraize (in Cloverport), Grayson County, Hart County, John Hardin, LaRue County, Meade County, Nelson County, North Hardin and North Hardin Christian School.
