Green, Ky. - A research assistant in Western Kentucky University’s Department of Public Health has become the youngest Indian author to publish a book on international education.
Jagdish Khubchandani, a native of India, presented a copy of “A Comprehensive Review of Foreign Exams” to WKU President Gary Ransdell on Thursday afternoon.
Jagdish, 27, spent 22 months writing the 442-page book on exams such as SAT, GRE (Graduate Record Examinations), GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
The book, which includes a website for interactive learning at http://www.jaggi.v33.org/, is published by Peepee Publishers Pvt. Ltd. India and will be distributed in Asia and Europe.
Dr. Ransdell and Jagdish discussed issues related to international students, study abroad programs, international education and foreign exams. “I am sure Jagdish will have plenty of takers for his book on international education as students all over the world want to reach different destinations in order to accomplish their academic and professional goals,” Dr. Ransdell said.
Several of Jagdish’s friends and co-workers as well as Dr. Cecilia Watkins of the Department of Public Health attended the ceremony at the Wetherby Administration Building.
Jagdish, a medical school graduate and physician in India, has been working with Dr. Watkins at WKU for the past 18 months. “I see pictures of great men in this room and I feel honored to be here,” he said. “On my flight to United States I cried, but the entire response from people at Western Kentucky University has been absolutely therapeutic.”
