Bowling Green, Ky. - All first-year students at Western Kentucky University are invited to the Freshman Assembly Pinning Ceremony on Tuesday (Aug. 29).

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. at the Guthrie Tower with free food, drinks and entertainment by Nashville group Go Aberdeen. The pinning ceremony begins at 7 p.m. The event concludes will a free fireworks display.

The Freshman Assembly brings together the incoming class of WKU students to hear the message of student engagement from university leadership, other students and community leaders.

The rain date for the event is Sept. 5.
