WKU Hosting Conference On Homeland

- Western Kentucky University’s Political Science Department will host
a Homeland Security conference April 26.
“National Security, Homeland Security and You” will be held from 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m. at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center at WKU’s South Campus.
Featured speakers will include Dr. James Carafano of The Heritage Foundation;
(Ret.) Major Alecia Webb-Edgington, Kentucky Director of Homeland Security;
Dr. Soleiman Kiasatpour, Dr. Roger Murphy and Dr. Craig Cobane of WKU’s
Department of Political Science; and Ed Tivol, vice president of EWA
Government Systems, Inc.
Discussion topics include the global war on terrorism, different perspectives
on the war on terrorism, Kentucky and Homeland Security, Homeland Security’s
impact on local businesses, social institutions and higher education,
and local government’s preparedness to respond to terrorist threats.
There is no registration fee, but an RSVP is requested. To register,
