WKU Agriculture Students Honored In Dairy Challenge

Bowling Green, Ky. - Students from Western Kentucky University won a silver award in the Fifth Annual North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge March 31-April 1 in Twin Falls, Idaho.
WKU team members were Travis England, a Hardyville senior; Mark Jaynes, a Bowling Green junior; Steve Ray, a Summer Shade junior; and Micah Thomas, a Russell Springs junior. Dr. Jenks Britt, associate professor of agriculture, coached the team.
NAIDC is a two-day competition for students representing dairy science programs at North American universities. In the contest, students apply theory and learning to a working dairy and make a farm analysis and management recommendations.
The University of Idaho and Washington State University co-hosted the 2006 competition that attracted 27 teams from the United States and Canada. More information is available online at www.dairychallenge.org
