Bowling Green, Ky. - Two first-year students at Western Kentucky University received scholarships during the M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan Faculty Reception on Aug. 24.
Dana Brim, a history major from Antioch, Tenn., won a $500 scholarship, while Augusta Gootee, an agriculture major from Springfield, Ky., won a $250 scholarship. The scholarships were provided by the Division of Academic Affairs.
M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan (Making Academic and Social Transitions Educationally Rewarding), which began in 1993, offers five days of informational sessions, interactive educational workshops and other activities to help first-year students make the transition to college life.
