WKU Honors Volunteers, Alumni Chapters At Summit Awards

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University will recognize its top volunteers, alumni chapters and alumni Thursday night at the seventh annual Summit Awards.

Distinguished Service Medals to recognize the service of the University’s top three volunteers will be presented to Frank Conley of Bowling Green, John and Linda Kelly of Bowling Green and Greg Lowe of Cecilia.

John Wright of Elizabethtown is the Young Alumnus of the Year while Jennifer S. Inman of Owensboro is the Alumnus of the Year.

The Summit Awards will be presented at the Knicely Conference Center at WKU’s South Campus. The event begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and the awards program at 6 p.m.

The Barren County, Central Kentucky, Greater Louisville, Heartland, Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati, Owensboro and Warren County alumni chapters will be recognized as Chapters of Distinction for their efforts in organizing alumni events, community service projects, student recruitment and special events.

University-wide volunteer of the year awards are being presented to the following:

Craig Browning of Bowling Green, Kentucky Museum Advisory Council.

Jimmy Clayborne of Bowling Green, Electrical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board.

Community Greeters Club of Bowling Green, University Libraries Advisory Council.

Dr. Frank Conley of Bowling Green, Ogden Foundation Board.

Ben Cundiff of Cadiz, The Center for Gifted Studies Board of Advisors.

Kent Guthrie of Bowling Green, Engineering Executive Advisory Board.

Dr. Jim Heldman of Bowling Green, WKYU-FM.

Robert and Patti Hinton of Thompsons Station, Tenn., Annual Fund Advisory Council.

Mark Johnson of Bowling Green, Mechanical Engineering Advisory Council.

John and Linda Kelly of Bowling Green, Clinical Education Complex.

Dan Lanham of Owensboro, WKU Owensboro Campus Advisory Council.

Dr. John Logan of Henderson, L.Y. Lancaster-Hugh Puckett Lectureship Society.
