WKU Music Department Hosting High School Choral Festival

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s Department of Music will host its second annual WKU High School Choral Invitational Festival on Oct. 20.

Seven choral ensembles will perform at Van Meter Auditorium. Four groups will perform from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by three others from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The guest clinician is Dr. Thomas Davies, former president of the American Choral Directors Association Western Division. Dr. Davies, who is in his 23rd year as director of Choral Activities at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif., will work on stage with the ensembles after each performance.

The participating high schools are Allen County-Scottsville, Bowling Green, Butler County, Greenwood, Paducah Tilghman, Warren Central and Warren East.

The choral festival is free and open to the public.
