WKU Forensic Team Members Add
To National Qualifiers

Bowling Green, Ky. - Members of the Western Kentucky University Forensic Team made several additions to their list of national tournament qualifiers this weekend.

Members of the individual events squad took first place in team sweepstakes at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Dominata Classic. Six WKU team members won tournament championships as the squad of nine members topped Illinois State University by 38 points for the victory.

WKU debaters controlled the break-rounds at the University of Missouri-Columbia Invitational. Of the 16 debaters who broke to the octofinal round of Lincoln-Douglas debate, eight were from WKU. The tournament did not award a team sweepstakes champion.

Individual results for the IUPUI Dominata Classic are as follows:

Rachel Wigginton, a Glendale freshman, tournament champion in communication analysis and poetry interpretation.

Maggie Waid, a Symsonia sophomore, tournament champion in duo interpretation (with partner James Victery), second in prose interpretation, fourth in poetry interpretation.

Nick Courtney, a freshman from Morristown, Tenn., tournament champion in persuasive speaking, third in prose interpretation, fifth in after dinner speaking.

Barry Fields, a Bowling Green junior, tournament champion in extemporaneous speaking, fifth in impromptu speaking.

Beth Berger, a Lexington sophomore, tournament champion in informative speaking, fifth in communication analysis.

James Victery, an Indianapolis freshman, tournament champion in duo interpretation (with partner Maggie Waid), sixth in communication analysis.

Courtney Wright, a senior from Evansville, Ind., third in poetry interpretation, fourth in prose interpretation, fourth in impromptu speaking.

Ryan Brown, a Morehead freshman, fifth in persuasive speaking, sixth in poetry interpretation.

Logan Scisco, a Danville sophomore, second in extemporaneous speaking.

Joelle Perry, a Florence junior, top speaker in Lincoln-Douglas debate, second in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Chad Meadows, an Owensboro sophomore, third in parliamentary debate (with partner Adam Heugel), fourth speaker in parliamentary debate, seventh speaker in Lincoln-Douglas debate, octofinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Adam Heugel, a sophomore from Rosenberg, Texas, third in parliamentary debate (with partner Chad Meadows), 10th speaker in parliamentary debate, quarterfinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Keyon Shokraie, a junior from Somis, Calif., second speaker in Lincoln-Douglas debate, octofinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Lauren Nelson, a freshman from Wheaton, Ill., third speaker in parliamentary debate, quarterfinalist in parliamentary debate (with partner Rachel Mosley).

Megan Schrader, a freshman from Lowell, Ark., sixth speaker in Lincoln-Douglas debate, octofinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Rachel Mosley, a freshman from Verdi, Nev., quarterfinalist in parliamentary debate (with partner Lauren Nelson), octofinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Brian Bloss, a freshman from Coppell, Texas, ninth speaker in Lincoln-Douglas debate, octofinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Justin Cress, a Florence senior, tenth speaker in Lincoln-Douglas debate, octofinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate
