WKU SIFE Team To Attend National Training Conference

November 02, 2005

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s SIFE team will attend the annual Students in Free Enterprise training conference Saturday in Lexington.

The group of 19 SIFE students and adviser Dr. Leo Simpson will participate in the daylong event consisting of sessions in which members of the SIFE national organization educate SIFE students about the organization. The conference will discuss the purpose of SIFE and the ways teams can be more effective in developing projects that teach others about the benefits of the free enterprise system.

Teams interact with one another and work together in developing a better understanding of the principles of market economics, ethics, financial skills, personal success skills and entrepreneurship, which are the cornerstones of the SIFE agenda. Teams are intermixed in events to learn project development strategy, professional presentation skills and educational methods that aid them in communicating their message to the public.

WKU SIFE is coming off a hot first year bringing home several awards including rookie of the year from the national competition held in Kansas City, Mo. WKU SIFE is attending the conference for the second time.
