Basketball Season Brings Parking Changes At WKU
Bowling Green, Ky. - The start of Hilltopper and Lady Topper basketball means a few changes in game-day parking at Western Kentucky University.
The surface lots around Diddle Arena (Lots 1 - 5) and Parking Structure 2 are reserved parking lots. Four hours prior to the start of the game, access will be limited to these lots, and they must be emptied by two hours prior to the start of the game. As space allows, Parking Structure 1 will be for public parking ($5 per vehicle). Vehicles already parked are not required to leave Parking Structure 1. Housing permits will be honored in this structure. Some games will occur while classes are in session. Faculty and students should utilize Parking Structure 1, Tate Page Lot, Mimosa Lot, Park Street Lot or other parking areas during these games. After-game traffic will be detoured to facilitate emptying the parking structures. These changes will go into effect this week when the men’s team plays Thursday at 7 p.m. against Bellarmine. Parking Structure 2 and Diddle surface lots must be clear by 5 p.m. The women’s team will play Saturday at 7 p.m. against Kentucky Wesleyan. Both of these are exhibition games. A map of campus, including parking, is available at www.wku.edu/transportation/. For more information, contact Parking and Transportation Services, (270) 745-2373.
