Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s Forensic Team took first-place honors in three weekend competitions.
WKU dominated the competition at the Bradley University “Norton” Invitational in Peoria, Ill., as nine team members won tournament championships. The Nov. 4-5 tournament featured the strongest field of competitors the team has faced thus far this season. Western was the tournament sweepstakes champion, placing ahead of Illinois State University, University of Texas-Austin, Kansas State University and George Mason University.
WKU debaters captured debate and overall team sweepstakes awards at the Central Missouri State University Swing Tournament in Warrensburg, Mo. A second group of debaters placed first in debate sweepstakes at the St. Anselm College Invitational in Manchester, N.H.

Ashley Brasfield, a Mayfield senior, tournament champion in dramatic interpretation, third in persuasive speaking, fourth in informative speaking.
Chris Brasfield, a Bowling Green senior, tournament champion in persuasive speaking, fifth in programmed oral interpretation.
