Bowling Green, Ky. - Registration is under way for Discovering Entrepreneurship Youth Day Camp hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Western Kentucky University. It provides a fun, educational experience for students who have completed the 7th and 8th grades who want to learn what it's like to start a business.

The camp is from 8:30 - 3:30 daily, July 11-15 and will meet at Grise Hall 224 on the WKU campus.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for youth to explore, develop and implement entrepreneurial skills," said Kirk Heriot, Professor of Entrepreneurship. During the week long camp youth take part in games and activities that familiarize them with the personal qualities, characteristics and attitudes of an entrepreneur. The highlight of the camp occurs on the last day when youth operate their business. This camp provides a detailed introduction to entrepreneurship and how being an entrepreneur can make a positive difference in their life.

Learn about business while having fun! Tour local businesses and have lunch with entrepreneurs. Plan and run your own business. This program consists of activities plus time devoted to selling. Youth will recognize that they have what it takes to make it in today's competitive world. Youth will gain an understanding that they can make choices that will allow them to take charge of their life. Students interested in pursuing their dreams are encouraged to apply.

Registration for the camp continues through June10. Cost is $50, which includes all expenses associated with the camp, snacks and lunches.

To obtain registration materials or for more information on the camp, contact Kirk Heriot at (270) 745-4343 or Lynn Minton (270) 745-1902 or email lynn.minton@wku.edu.
