June 01, 2005

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra will hold a press conference to introduce the 2005-2006 season, /Anything Goes,/ and the arrival of their new mascot, Perry Penguin. The press conference is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. on the WKU campus at the Guthrie Bell Tower. In case of rain, the press conference will be moved to the overhang area of the Mass Media and Technology Building. Don’t miss this great photo opportunity; some young children will be there to see Perry Penguin and interact with him.

No special parking passes are needed. However, it is suggested that you park either in the South Lawn lot across from the football field or in the Mimosa Street lot, across from the Mass Media and Technology Building.

We invite you to come to the press conference to find out more about the unique Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra, the only fully professional chamber orchestra in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The orchestra will begin its sixth season on the 4^th of July with a free concert and fireworks at the Guthrie Bell Tower on the WKU campus. Conducted by Music Director and founder Jeffrey Reed, the BGCO is known for its adventuresome programming, growing audiences and unique collaborations with other regional organizations. In addition, it has formed three youth orchestras, the Bowling Green Chamber Singers, the Bowling Green String Academy and has the very popular recording entitled "Burchland" featuring Curtis Burch to its credit. The BGCO also receives funds from the Kentucky Arts Council and support from area businesses and individuals.
