WKU, Independence Bank Honor
High School Scholars

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and Independence Bank honored 39 seniors from six high schools for their academic achievements.

Thursday's annual High School Honors Luncheon honored high school seniors who qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU. This year's group has an average ACT composite score of 27.9 and grade-point average of 3.88 and includes 21 Governor's Scholars, one National Merit Semifinalist and one National Achievement Semifinalist.

The students honored at the WKU South Campus included:

From Allen County-Scottsville: Jay Bandy, Ali Bomar, Gared Croley, Samantha Foster, Dylan Meador, Ada Beth Mitchell, Ben Osborne, Troy Stinson, Chelsey Spencer and Morgan Wheat.

From Butler County: Catherine Childress, William Keown, Ashton Miller and Melinda Smith.

From Edmonson County: Keegan Smith, Samuel Warnell and Shane Webb.

From Franklin-Simpson: Dana Adams, Alex McCubbin, Jessica Shoulders and Lacey Steele.

From Logan County: Paul Burchett, Wesley Cain, Michael Doug Chick, Ashley Malone, Frank Miles, Alicia Miller and Austin White.

From Russellville: Nikkia Bullard, Andrea Chapman, Hannah Grise, Katie Howlett, Ryan Leach, Callie Rutherford, Victoria Sansom, Jessica Shutt, Shaequinna Sydnor, Timothy Thomason and Carol Ann Vick.
