Bowling Green, Ky. - Effective immediately, The Kentucky Museum galleries and The Museum Store will be open 9:30am – 4pm seven days a week.

Previously, the galleries and store were closed Mondays, a day known as a "universal housekeeping day" for most museums.

Timothy Mullin, head, Library Special Collections, said the expanded museum hours are very positive for several reasons.

"We are always looking for ways to increase service to patrons, including WKU faculty, staff and students."

And, he pointed out that most of the building was open on Mondays anyway.

"The Welcome Center, the Research Library, Manuscripts and University Archives were all open. In fact, the lights were on in the museum galleries, so it was a logical next step to welcome the public," Mullin said.
