More Than 500 Attend Conference
At WKU

Bowling Green, Ky. - More than 500 faculty and professional staff at Western Kentucky University attended "Engaging the Spirit: Enhancing Student Learning," an inaugural conference hosted by the Division of Academic Affairs.

Featured speakers at the Aug. 18 conference included Dana Canedy, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist from The New York Times, and Dr. Jillian Kinzie, Associate Director of NSSE Institute for Effective Educational Practice. WKU President Gary Ransdell and WKU Student Government Association President Katie Dawson also spoke.

Canedy, a native of Kentucky, won the Pulitzer Prize for her article and her work as editor in the series, "How Race Is Lived in America."

"Engaging the Spirit" included more than 30 presentations by faculty and staff on the theme of engaging students for enhanced student learning.
